The famous figure from which this bust was taken now resides in the Pio Clementino Museum of the Vatican. It is actually a Roman copy of a Greek bronze original that was created between 350-325BC. It was rediscovered in the late 15th century and was placed in 1511 in the Belvedere courtyard of the Vatican. Most notable of its features are the smooth form and slim figure that lend a grace and elegance to the youthful depiction of the god Composition Available Aged Marble
